How Does A Hydro Cyclone Work
1. Tangential Feed Entry: Pressurized slurry (10-30% solids) enters the cylindrical chamber tangentially, generating a high-speed vortex (up to 20 m/s).
2. Centrifugal Separation: Denser coarse particles (0.05-2mm) migrate outward to walls and spiral down to the apex (underflow), while fines (0.001-0.1mm) move inward.
3. Dual Discharge: Underflow exits through the conical apex (adjustable nozzle controls density); overflow (with ultrafines) rises via central vortex finder.
4. Dynamic Control: Separation sharpness (D50) is tuned by feed pressure (0.05-0.3MPa), cone angle (10°-20°), or vortex finder diameter.
